Casey is looking at the house with a professional eye. "You want a nursery?" he asks. "Or something a little less traditonal?"
"A nursery," his client says. He's a prominent businessman, preparing for the birth of his first child. "I want it added so seamlessly that you can't tell it hasn't been here forever. But we can't change any of the existing rooms that we already use. Can you figure out a way to do it?"
Casey nods. "Off the master bedroom?" he asks.
"Yes," the man says. "There is one room we don't use, a dressing room. We had a closet built in when the house was made, and I hope it'll be suitable."
"Show me," Casey says, following the man. He doesn't look too hard at the bedroom to give his client his privacy, but he knows immediately when he sees the room that it'll work. It even has a window.
"It shouldn't be hard to draft up the specs," he says. "I can have something to you in 24 hours, if that would work."
"Ten thousand dollar bonus if you make it 12," the businessman offers.
"I'll see what I can do," Casey says. He knows he can, he always inflates the time, mostly to allow for any unexpected delays, but he can do his best to get it done.
"You're the best, I'm told, I have a lot of friends who've used your services," the man tells Casey.
"I appreciate the compliment," Casey says, trying not to blush. It's not done for a man of his age.
"You're getting quite the reputation in this business, trust me. Word of mouth's going to do you a lot of good," he told him.
"I just do my best," Casey says. "I was doing some other work for a while, but I've never really stopped enjoying architecture."
"I'd say you belong in the business," the man said. "Now... I'd better let you go so you can start working on those specs."
"12 hours," Casey says, and shakes his hand with a grin.
