I know it's old-fashioned, but as much as we can do these things on a computer, I like working with a desk, a piece of pristine white paper, and sketching out the outline of plans first. Sure, it eventually goes onto the computer in one form or another, before becoming a building that is going to mean the world to someone, but that first, sense-filled experience is what I need to be able to realize that building someday> Oh, sure, I don't actually do the building - though a few years back I did work construction - but without me, it wouldn't exist. It just feels so right to be able to feel the beginning as much as the end. At least for me. Even if it is old-fashioned.
